Biking & Sailing Croatia's Dalmatian Coast Tour

Peace was settled in 1995 and ever since Croatia has made a determined effort to regain its prominence as a premier international travel destination (we did our first tour here in 1999). The seas are still crystal clear, the islands lush and the fishing villages unspoiled as ever. As you bike within these pristine conditions and through its coastal towns and islands you also discover a land rich cultural heritage. The many palaces, temples, and amphitheaters from the Roman Empire evidence this as well as the remains of its forts, fishing villages and fortified towns from the Venetian realm.

We are not able to board our boat until early afternoon. Therefore for those that wish we can meet early to get fitted on our bikes and do a ride that explores the nearby Cetina Gorge. This gorge will constantly be in your sights throughout the next 2 days of your sailing journey. Once we board our boat we sail to the picturesque fishing village located at the far end of the island Solta, where we dock for night and dine on shore.

In the morning we enjoy a ride across the island of Solta. Here we discover an island that prides itself on its olive oil and honey production. We stop off at one of the premier producers for a tour and tasting. We should arrive on the far side of the island in time for lunch aboard our boat. We set sail for our 2nd island Brac and a special swimming spot within one of the more secluded bays of the island. Our destination is the stone cutters village located at the far south end of the island..

We rise to tour the world renowned sculpture school that produced the marble for the White House in Washington DC as well as for the palace of Versailles just to mention a few. We then transfer by van to the highest point on the island to not just take in the views, but to ride then glide down to the oldest village on the island. After a tour of the village and a visit to one of the local producers of olive oil, lavender oil and honey we ride down to Dol. In this small picturesque village we sample the most delicious cake Croatia has to offer then make our way to our boat to catch some afternoon wind and another secluded cove on our next island , Hvar.

We set anchor in another small fishing village and enjoy a dinner with the locals.  The following day we begin with a spectacular ride within the lush lavender laden scenery of Hvar. We picnic at the islands highest point and the cruise down to our destination is the lively medieval port town of Hvar. We board our boat here and enjoy the afternoon breeze that eventually takes us to the Pakelini Islands. From here we are able to easily access lively Hvar and return to our quiet slip where we are sure to sleep well.

In the morning we transfer by van for a ride that explores the wine making villages of the island. We picnic in one of the tiny fishing villages that also houses one of Croatia's award winning wine producers. We tour the facilities and visit the unusual cellar located below the sea's surface. Once done with lunch we set out for a sail that further explores the Island Hvar with enough time for another swim before dinner.

In the morning we sail to the Island Vis and explore what many think is the most beautiful island in the Adriatic; You will learn about its fascinating history as we bike within the island. The following morning we sail to the tiny island of Bisevo to see the renowned Blue Grotto

Our last day we sail bakc toward Split and get in once last ride before a farewell feast after our final sail to the island Brac. From here an early fast ferry can get you to Dubrovnik by noon.
