This tour can be customized for one day or our standard 3 day tour. Anyone can learn more about this great sport from
our European certified instructor and thus can call for individual tour quotes.
The scheduled tour is a challenging adventure for the beginner of mountain biking with good stamina. You ride through
some of Switzerland's most scenic alpine routes of hills covered in
forest, pastures and fields of wild flowers. Rock peaks jut up abruptly
from the gentle hills of these mountains composed of limestone that
originates from the ancient Tethys Ocean. A beautiful backdrop of high
Alps dominated by the spectacular Saentis peak and located in the northern
most range.
Day 1: Getting to
know you
We meet you the evening before the tour and transfer
you to your hotel located in a small village within the pre-Alps.
This allows us the opportunity to rise early the next morning for
a full day of instruction and riding, do a bike fitting, enjoy a Swiss
welcoming drink and get to know one another.
Day 2: Theory
Lesson & Introduction to the Adventure of Mt. Biking
After a theory and technique class conducted by your certified Swiss
mountain bike instructor and guide, your skills are tested on the local
par course. This short course of 23 km/15 miles includes 650 meters
of elevation change and passes through the incredibly picturesque hill
trails & mountain tracks of an area known for fine cheese &
Swiss tradition. Later we tour colorful Appenzell, famed for its handicrafts.
Day 3: Technical Instructions and More Challenging Course
We embark on
a fun ride of 35 km (22 miles) and 1000 meters of climbs where you
will continually apply what you've learned the past days. We enjoy
continual views of dramatic mountain peaks, rich green hillsides and
quaint villages. We even have time to stop for some cheese and schnapps
tasting. We end our day sharing in the traditional Swiss fondue made
from locally produced cheeses.
Lodgings: A very friendly & quiet farmstead/Villa within the Chianti Classico.
